Well, folks, we made it to Mt Ives Stn in South Australia. Only one small problem with the car and that was due to corrugated roads snapping some plastic clips that hold under trays and bumpers on, enter a handful of cable ties, and all is all ok again.
The first stop from home was Camp Hart, the Veterans camp at Kulin Bush race track. Then Wave Rock at Hyden. We pushed on and stayed at Newmans Rock 50 km short of Balladonia. The next stop was Eucla Caravan park.
NOTE BE WARNED Fuel at Baladonia was almost $2.50 a litre with Nullabor at $2.98 a litre.
Yalata has fuel by card only and was a much more reasonable $1.84 a litre.
Eventually, we got into Penong, home of the windmill museum. The Penong Caravan Park is absolutely fantastic, clean with a huge camp kitchen and the staff are to be commended for the way they look after the travellers.
The pub at Penong does a good meal.
The final push was via Ceduna for some shopping then onto Mt Ive Stn via Wirrula and the scenic Gawla Ranges. 2 nights at the station and then we will go the short hop to the DLRA camp on Thursday.
