Hi there Peeps, well after a round trip of nearly 5ooo klms we have safely landed back home. We had a wonderful time at the Dry Lake Racing at Lake Gairdner in South Australia.  As we arrived a few days early  we stayed a couple days at Mt Ives Station.  we were in the outback FAR FAR away from everything,,,, it was the fartherest I had been for over 50 years...AND i loved it, NO computers, NO phone service, NO traffic, NO supermarkets, NO time schedules to keep,,  we had Good Food, Pip's home brew,, hot showers and clean toilets,, I mean, what else do you need to just sit back and enjoy the magestic views, glorious sunsets and a kalidascope of twinkling stars in a jet black night sky followed by a New Day's sunrise,, Well,,you get the picture,.

We made friends with the station manager and his lovely wife, they had been running the station for just a few weeks, they have 3 young boys who looked to be loving growing up o the road. They were being home schooled and mum had them on a strict regime for nap times, schooling, meals, and nighttime sleep. I really admired her.. she KNEW what she was doing. These 3 boys also had thier own little pets,,, Kids from the wild goats that had been abandoned,, i fell in love with a beautiful little black Kid, only 2 days old, she was soooo tiny and her mother abandoned her 2 days previously. She had the blackest of black curly hair and big floppy ears ,from the moment i saw her i was besotted,,, Pip just looked at me and proclaimed to the brain that i wasn't thinking with " NOOOOOOOOOO,,,,,, you are NOT taking her home".... i knew i couldn"t but i had fun trying to convince Pip that i should,, little things like, GREAT LAWNMOWERS,, BETTER GUARD DOGS THAN A DOG,,,WE CAN START A GOAT FARM,,Hahahahaha it was funny to watch Him get really frustrated with it all.. 

We sat at the bar a couple times, sharing stories and hearing about local history of the station. Lake Gairdner is actually on Mt Ive Station. We found a couple places to go sight see, like the Organ Pipes and the Embankment rock formations, see them in the photos below

 We really filled our days here, It was hot and dusty as you would expect but it is beautiful.....
